Monitoring Data
Dust, noise and vibration are being monitored on-site. The monitors are set within acceptable tolerance levels and we endeavour at all times to keep within the control limits set by the City of London and London Borough of Islington. If any control limit is exceeded, the monitors will alert the site team so that early remedial action can be taken.
The on-site team continue to monitor the results, which are presented to Environmental Health Officers at the City of London and Islington Council. We will upload the results to this site on a monthly basis as well as put in the noticeboard on-site.
The trigger limit for noise is set at 73 dB LAeq. This is the measurement index specified for the assessment of construction site activity noise. The measurement instrumentation used on the site boundary logs continuously records and meets Class 1 accuracy of BS EN 61672, which is an important requirement.
ISG receive immediate alerts from the monitoring equipment when any level is exceeded. We can then immediately assess the activity and cease work, apply control measures or monitor closely. The City of London Corporation also receive daily reports if we exceed the overall 73 dB LAeq 10 hour threshold.
Reduced impact hours are designed to provide temporary respite at known times and apply both to business and residential neighbours. During reduced impact hours works will still be carried out on-site, however, there should be no percussive machinery used or other similar construction involving heavy machinery, i.e breaking of concrete slabs. If you experience noisy works during the reduced impact hours, please do call us on 0800 772 0475 and we can immediately pick this up with the site team.
